Festival 2011
Dear audience!
I am pleased to welcome you to the DanceFestival Barents 2011, the 9th - 13th of November. Here in the north we will dance in the November darkness, and have many great experiences.
The Northern Norwegian Culture Conference is located in Hammerfest during this year's festival, and talks about "Big adventures in small places" - and here we are, the world's northernmost dance festival in the middle of Hammerfest. We can offer many pearls, so one thing is certain - we offer great experiences in a small place in the world!
In the programme booklet you get an overview of the many exciting performances, exhibitions, seminars and lectures offered during the festival.
It will be exciting, funny, touching, subtle, playful, exploratory, strange, serious and wonderful performances and events at the festival. I am also pleased to announce festival artist Titta Court from Finland. A fantastic dance artist who has been in Hammerfest many times. Many of you have probably seen her before, both in the streets and on stage.
Join the great experiences in both large and small format!
I encourage you to take advantage of the opportunities as they roll up like pearls on a string ....
I also use this opportunity to thank our partners and contributors, not to mention all the individuals who have made a tremendous effort to prepare and make the festival happen.
