Me too

Kristin Ryg Helgebostad

Saturday 12th of November 6.30 p.m., Ole Olsenssalen, Arctic Culture Centre

About the performance

Imagine a group choreography that never ends. A perpetual metamorphosis. Their bodies transforms and new faces appear constantly. "Me Too" is initiated by choreographer / dancer Kristin Ryg Helgebostad and carilloneur/composer Laura Marie Rueslåtten. The two have collaborated closely since 2008. "Me Too" is works to create a choreographic expression inspired by Rueslåtten synesthesia - a phenomenon that involves viewing music and hearing movement and Helgebostads interest in the absurd. Along with Marianne Kjær Sund, Irene Theisen, Sigrid Kopperdal, Berglind Rafnsdotitir, Thale Kvam Olsen and Martin Myrvold they work in a dialogue-based process of merging acoustic handbells, bodily movement and theatrical effects. Imagine a flock massaging, splitting and transforming sound and space. Community transformed. Surreal forces are set in motion and meet the bell’s properties in an absurd interaction. Meanings are shattered by abstractions and vice versa, it is not easy to say who is who or what's what.
