JUBILEE PERFORMANCE
STELLARIS DANSTEATER – 40 years in 2020

Stellaris DansTeater's 40th jubilee performance is a leap of thought from old to modern times visualised through several scenes. In a universe of movements and colours, joik and film, moods are created around petroglyphs and hunters.

The world premiere of Svaner i stein (Swans in Stone) is a visually beautiful and energetic dance performance inspired by petroglyphs from Alta and the motif "Two Swans in Stone" which is from petroglyphs outside Belamorsk in the Republic of Karelia. Swans in stone are introduced by an excerpt from the performance Geidosis (I skjul / Hidden), which is a reworked piece from Stellaris' repertoire.

Swans in stone is the follower of the success of Adnazdi, which was described as a breath of fresh air, and with standing ovations from the audience in both Norway and Russia. Adnazdi was a collaboration between Stellaris DansTeater and "Kantele" (State National Song and Dance ensemble of The Republic of Karelian). The plan was that we would be on stage together during the jubilee performance, but due to the pandemic this has been postponed until 2021.

We hope our audience will welcome our Norwegian-Sami edition - Welcome!
