DJ Saunasatan is a concept created and performed by Kjersti Anfinnsen.
DJ Saunasatan curates the sounds of the North Calotte, weaving together Karelian throat singing, tango, Tornedalian folk music, Northern Norwegian rap, joik, Finnish funk, electronica, and much more. The result is a borderless sonic landscape where multiple cultures, ethnicities and languages meet in a joyful, genre-defying celebration of diversity.
At the same time, the project is a performative and experimental exploration of Kven identity, language and music, united under the rallying cry:
EI SAA PEITTÄÄ!
