Kilden - Children in Creative Play is a performance about wonder, belonging, and the joy of creating – for everyone who still believes the world can be discovered anew.
Kilden is a sensory and interactive project for young children, where performers and children explore nature, language and storytelling together through play, music and movement.
Inspired by the Arctic landscape and the storytelling traditions of Norwegian, Sámi and Kven cultures, the performance creates a living world where the sea meets the tundra, imagination is free to flourish, and every sense is invited to take part.
Here, a stone can become a treasure, the wind can become a dance, and the smallest sound can grow into an unforgettable adventure. Through live music, soundscapes, movement, joik, language and visual props, children are invited to listen, explore and become active participants in an experience where play, curiosity and imagination lead the way.
Kilden invites children and adults alike to discover the stories of nature, each other's languages, and the joy of creating together. After all, the greatest adventures often begin at the source.
Target audience: Children aged 2–5 years and playful adults.
This production is a development project that will evolve through visits to kindergartens across Northern Norway. The first phase includes residencies at Mylingen Kindergarten, as well as kindergartens in Lakselv and Karasjok.
The project is supported by the Arts Council Norway (Kulturrådet) and the Regional Cultural Fund of Finnmark.
